Day Thirty-Five: November 24, 2012

What did I do today? Absolutely nothing. Well that’s not completely true. I did visit the grocery store where I proceeded to spend $100.

When you live in a small town ANY outing is exciting. I particular love visiting the grocery store. I set aside a significant chunk of time, allowing myself to walk the whole store at glacier pace. I sometimes even walk the aisles two or three times . . . just to be sure I didn’t miss anything. I used to worry about spending so much at the grocery store but when I’m only using half a tank of gas every three weeks, it’s ok to indulge a little.

The rest of my day was spent relaxing. I watched The Grinch, I took a bath, I drank some wine and of course, I cuddled with my bff Blue.

Day 30-31: November 19-20, 2012

I basically spent Monday and Tuesday doing a lot of work. I worked 10 hours both days leaving little time in between to do much else. I do, however, have some more photos from the weekend that I’d like to share with you. Image

This photo reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. It’s like she’s following a path and what’s beyond the barn door is unknown.

I love photographing trees. I don’t know why. Some people might find them boring. They don’t move, there’s no action. But I find them secure. Representing something sturdy and powerful. There’s always something unique that draws me to them. For this tree it’s the red bird house that belongs to it. Image

I also have a thing for reflection shots. There’s a double meaning for this photo. There’s an actual reflection in the water from the surrounding trees which I love. The other type of reflection is where you capture a person reflecting. Looking out over a body of water, a mountain, a field, a piece of architecture, etc.

A personal moment caught on film.

Day Twenty-Nine: November 18, 2012

Today was the best day ever. We went to the Polar Bear Habitat in Cochrane and we did see the polar bears but we spent about an hour and half taking photos in the Heritage Village.

Here’s Ganuk first … if you’ve been following the blog you’ll remember that I covered a story about Inukshuk’s big debut at the habitat. Ganuk is Inukshuk’s son. Alright now that you’ve seen the bears…Image

… cue epic photo session. ImageBridesmaids.

ImageHow the timer caught a candid moment is beyond me but thank goodness for it.

ImagePretty much describes their relationship. ImageLove.

ImageThis perfectly describes their friendship. They love each other really though. Image

Thank you so much for coming girls.  It was an amazing time and I love you all very much!

Day Twenty-Eight: November 17, 2012

My girlfriends came to visit this weekend and boy did we ever have some good laughs. I honestly don’t think there’s a better thing in this world than laughter. It makes you feel better when you’re blue or sick, it relieves stress, it stops you from worrying and it brightens everything around you.

Our Saturday night consisted of eating a lot of deep fried food, napping, drinking, more drinking, dancing, drinking and more eating. Typical.

Even though it’s blurry this is the best photo. It makes me smile.Image
